The Case For Supplement And Mineral Manufacturing

In a world of constant scientific advancement and depleting natural resources, it is said that many believe the future lies in genetically modified foods and crops. As is natural with anything that is involved with giving life or creating something that started out as naturally grown, there are those that vehemently oppose this idea as there hasn’t been enough time to properly test the long-term effects of intaking these foods. I myself believe that genetically modified materials are around for a reason and that ingenuity is the future of this world, especially if the population continues to rise as its current rate. The following information will be highlighting the advantages of using genetically modified foods and substances on a larger scale.

  • Resistance to Deadly Forces – Forgive the forbording title, but I speak more of the crops ability to resist otherwise deadly natural or manmade exposure. Currently GM crops can be made resistant to pests, so there is no need for pesticides to be sprayed on them. This also greatly helps the environment as pesticides tend to have a negative effect on the surrounding ecosystems.
  • Nutrition for Those in Need – It’s common knowledge that the average child does not receive near enough nutrition and is in high risk of improper physical development. With genetically engineered food containing mineral chelates and other bioavailability increasing compounds, nutrition can be provided to those in need.
  • Cost-effective Food – The last few years the United States has seen record numbers of children going hungry, with more than a million young, growing children being put to bed at night without having had dinner. This is an issue that will only continue to grow if steps aren’t made to provide more cost-effective healthy and nutritious food in the hands of those who cannot regularly afford it. With more and more companies diving into the realm of supplement manufacturing the nutrition that children so desperately need can be bought and consumed on a daily basis. If more efforts were to be focused on supplement manufacturing the price of supplements would surely decrease making it even more available.

Yes, it is true that there can be certain hesitations or fears when dealing with any substance that is genetically modified, but I firmly believe the science was created for a reason and with good purpose. Now if we were to dive into the realm of stem cell research it would be a completely different matter, but when it comes to feeding the hungry, I will always vote the way of more food.

Time Examines Wal-Mart’s Choice To Stock Strategy B, Effects On EC Access

4 (two votes)

Healthcare Prof:

Time magazine in its March 13 issue examined Wal-Mart’s announcement that by March 20 it will begin to stock and fill prescriptions for Barr Laboratories’ emergency contraceptive Plan B — which can avoid pregnancy if taken up to 72 hours after sexual intercourse. Time called the action “the latest in a string of developments expanding access to [EC, and] 1 of the few arenas in which abortion-rights groups seem to be gaining ground.” In accordance with Time, “[n]ow that Wal-Mart has agreed to stock [Plan B], so will every major pharmacy chain in the country.” FDA has delayed a decision on Barr’s application to present nonprescription access to Plan B to girls and girls ages 17 and older, along with a decision seems “unlikely” before the November elections, Time reports. Therefore, some abortion-rights groups have focused efforts on expanding EC access at the state level, in accordance with Time. Eight states enable pharmacists to dispense EC without a prescription if they are specially trained and follow specific guidelines, and seven states are considering similar legislation. Massachusetts and Illinois have requirements improving pharmacy access to EC, and Connecticut and New York are considering similar requirements. Some abortion-rights opponents are “deeply disappointed” in Wal-Mart’s “about face” on stocking Plan B, Time reports (Thottam, Time, 3/13).

What’s wrong with my CB125 drum brake?

I recently fitted a new front wheel & drum brake to my 1976 Honda Cb125J, the wheel and brake are from a 1974 bike. The brake worked perfectly on the other bike, i changed the whole front end and now i can’t adjust it right. to get any sort of braking power i need to adjust it so tight it rubs constantly, but if i stop it rubbing then the brake just doesn’t work at all. The drums & shoes are clean, there’s plenty of lining left, the cam isn’t worn too far and the cable isn’t stretched.
and thanks to certain annoying people, i’d appreciate it if nobody said ‘buy a new bike’ or ‘walk’.

Did you remember the spring at the end of the cable where it connects to thebottom lever? About 2 1/2-3 " long, it holds the lever away from the mounting bracket.

I wish i could answer but I don’t work on bikes so I can’t but an old 76 Honda CB is a classic man, my neigbor use to have one.

Buy a different bike or restrict it?

I asked this question yesterday http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Av3RUVMbxnK.qAPSCE0QtJogBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20120318164037AAKwRre and basically people have told me politely to fill in my organ donor card – which I have done! but my question this time is whether to get something similar to an r1 and get it restricted to learn on or should I buy a less powerful bike second hand, learn on it and the sell it again? If I was going to do this then I would probably want to look at around 500-700cc and use it for about a year/year and a half before upgrading?
I’m not planning on learning until the end of uni (masters degree with a year in industry so about 5 years) and I have been cycling on the roads for the past couple of years and I am a very sensible person at the moment and hopefully more so in a few years.
That last bit was just to say that I’m not planning on underestimating things and I have already learnt to treat everyone else like an idiot on the roads.
Thanks in advance and thanks for the answers to my last question.

Your thinking away ahead of yourself about thinking buying a big bike. Get your test done learn to control a bike and don’t be in a rush to jump onto a big sports bike. I have only just passed my test but have been riding a 125cc for two years. I initially listened to all the websites and went and bought a big heavy 600. So wrong I should of bought a 600 sports bike as these handle fantastic and after 50 miles on one was getting more confident, at no point am I thinking of R1 or fireblade to mental want to have a few years under my belt at least. trust me you will be surprised how good the 600 bikes are.

I don’t think you could restrict an R1 and it would be a terrible bike to use to get experience on. Far too big and heavy. It’s also not a bike for the inexperience. Rider.
Get something normal restricted ready and change to something bigger when you can. But not an r1 or gsxr or blade. That is a sure way to the donor pool

Riding a bicycle is NOTHING like riding a motorcycle, especially not a geared one!I’m pretty sure my answer was plenty detailed, but the main thing to remember is it’s all changing next year so you wouldn’t be able to get an R1 and restrict it anyway, because it’s far too powerful, you wouldn’t even be able to get a R6 (or other 600 supersports) and restrict it!

As of next year…

A1 – at 17 you can pass on a 125cc, and ride that, and nothing else…..ever!

A2 – at 19 and you can pass the restricted test, which limits you to 46.6bhp maximum, but the bike can’t have more than 93.5bhp before you restricted it.

A – at 21-24 (two years riding on A2 or age 24, whichever is sooner) you can pass your DAS and ride anything.

That means, at least 4 years and 3 tests to be able to ride anything big, or just wait until 24 as my previous answer suggests.

Will I be able to ride a 600cc bike for the first time?

Hi, i am planning on getting a motorcycle within the next few weeks. It is going to be my first bike ever, something like r6 or similar. I got my licence and took the safety class. I know I will need a lot of practice, but I will have to ride it home, may be far and test drive it. I feel confident in myself not doing anything stupid and being extra careful but I am still a bit nervous, any tips?

I started on a 2009 GSX-R600, it was my first time ever riding a motorcycle. I payed close attention to the guy teaching me how to drive, i took it very slow. Every day for about a week id ride around my block really slow for about a hour a day until i got the hang of it. Then i went on my first ride on public roads with one of my friends, again i took it very slow. I did not get on the highway until i had a good 2-3 weeks and allot of hours riding around the block and on public roads. My tip’s are do not get to excited, do not get to confident, always listen to your instructor just make sure they know what they are talking about (Motorcycle safety class is the best option). Do not go over 60mph until you know how to properly brake and avoid any driver’s around you who may cut you off, Make sure you know the basics of leaning and counter steering before getting on public roads. I wide empty open parking lot would be a good place to practice. The 600cc is a amazing bike to start on aslong as you respect it and know your limit’s, i started on one and i loved it but i made sure i always respected the bike and i never got to confident, When you get to confident you will crash. NEVER let girls or other drivers convince you to race or wheelie for them.. NEVER.

Just make sure your safe and I would drive with a buddy who has a bike also or even get someone who has a car to follow you, or get your friend to drive the bike home then you can practice from there…But i would drive it…

Good luck… drive safe

What year were the best hd sportster bikes made?

I have not ridden a good one yet, so how do you define best? The one that shook and sputteredthe least? I guess thats the one that was out of gas.

2006 to present. The 2006 883 sportster gets 63 mpg.If fuel injected for more power and fuel economy, plus reliable starts.Belt drive for less maintenance.

None. From the start they were outclassed by British bikes and now they are just antique reproductions, still outclassed by British bikes.A fashion acccessory to go with your costume shop biker costume.

2004 and up have rubber mounted engines that reduce the vibration so many people complain about. 2006/2007 and up have fuel injection.
